Hinkson Clean Sweep is a city-wide stream cleanup event where volunteers work together to clean area streams.
The result is a healthier watershed and attractive community!
Why is litter pick up so important to our city?
All storm drains on city, county, neighborhood and campus
streets drain directly to local waterways. Any substance that goes into a storm
drain goes directly into a local stream. Streams are everywhere if you live in
Columbia/or Boone County; chances are you have one in your own backyard or live within minutes
of a local waterway. Each piece of
street litter finds its way to our watersheds and the litter created here in
Columbia/Boone County affects the environment around the world!
HINKSON CLEAN SWEEP - SATURDAY OCTOBER 11, 2014
The clean sweep starts at 10AM and lasts until 12PM (Noon)
