The Columbia Vision Commission invites the public to weigh in on the quality of local schools and education. A special commission meeting for this purpose will be held on Tuesday, July 22 at 5 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 701 E. Broadway.
Established in January 2009, the City Council-appointed Commission tracks, monitors and reports on the progress of “Imagine Columbia’s Future,” a community document that established goals and strategies in 13 key areas, including education. By ordinance, the Commission must assess implementation efforts and the public’s interest in continuing with current goals or revising them with new aspirations.
Commissioner Member Eric Hucker, who will host the session, has three discussion items for the evening.
