Public Communications serves as a communications link between the city of Columbia’s municipal government and the citizens. The Public Communications Office coordinates several programs that are designed to link citizens with their city government.

The Community Line is a list of prerecorded messages that can be accessed with a touch-tone telephone or on the Web. The messages contain routine information and are not intended to replace a live person. Please feel free to call the appropriate city office if you need to speak with someone. Community Line information is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To receive a printed copy of the Community Line Directory, call the City of Columbia's Public Communications Office at (573) 874-7240 or send a letter to the Public Communications Office P.O. Box 6015, Columbia, MO 65205.

Instructions For Phone Users:

Use a push-button phone.
Determine in advance what Community Line message you want to hear and remember the three-digit number for the message.
Dial (573) 874-7650
An introductory message will answer your call. You may either listen to the entire message and then enter a three-digit number for the message of your choice, or you may interrupt by entering the three-digit number. You may enter 4-1-1 for a complete listing of available messages.
To disconnect from Community Line, simply hang up.
