The final draft of Columbia Imagined, a comprehensive land use plan for the City of Columbia, is now available online at www.columbiaimagined.com. Approved by City Council on October 7, Columbia Imagined is the result of almost 4 years of hard work by the Comprehensive Plan Task Force, the Planning and Zoning Commission, University of Missouri consultants and Community Development Department staff.
Designed to express the community's vision for how the City should develop, Columbia Imagined assesses existing conditions in the community such as growth and environmental management, infrastructure, mobility and accessibility, economic development, inter-governmental cooperation and sustainable communities. A set of 35 goals and objectives is presented that was developed through hundreds of hours of public input, along with policy suggestions and an implementation plan for moving Columbia Imagined forward.
Printed hard copies and CDs with the electronic files will be available from the Community Development Department in early- to mid-January.
