

Register online for the Mosquito Phone Notification Plan or contact the Environmental Health Division at 573-874-7346. You will need to supply your address and a phone number or e-mail address in order to be notified of spraying that is scheduled to occur in your area.
Every year, the Columbia/Boone County Health Department has seen increased rates of reported West Nile cases.

To help combat the health of the community, the Health Department is taking preventive measures for the spread of the infected mosquitoes. One of the prevention methods used by the Health Department is to conservativly and effeciantly spray infected areas with a cafefully chosen adulticide, Anvil®, that does not cause harm to humans or animals when following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.
The Health Department also applies larvicide to standing water in Columbia, monitors West Nile reported human cases, and has free dunks and educational material available to the public at no cost.
Every year the Health Department throughaly reviews its mosquiteo control policy based on new guidelines and research.
