The Finance Department is responsible for the administration, direction, and coordination of all financial services of the City involving financial planning, budgeting, treasury management, investments, purchasing, accounting, payroll, business licensing, insurance, and utility customer services.

Armed Guard and Security Guard Licenses

Application forms for armed or security (unarmed) guard licenses may be obtained from the Business License Office, 701 East Broadway, Columbia, MO 65205. The completed application must be accompanied by a current criminal record check and a set of fingerprints.

The fee for the license is $15.00. A picture ID is required which must be displayed while on duty. Armed guards must also pass a safety and firearms skills test administered by the Columbia Police Department.
