Section 13-159 Same; investigation of applicant.
Prior to the adoption of Ord. 19518 on 05/07/2007, Section 13-159 read as follows.
The department of finance shall investigate each applicant
All applications for a license as a
private detective or for a detective agency shall be referred to the chief of police, who shall
investigate
for
the moral character and fitness of the applicant or applicants, their
applicants
experience in such
the detective
business, the character of service they
applicant
expect
s
to
perform, and the manner in which such
the
business is to be carried on. He shall also obtain such
other information concerning the applicant as he may deem necessary in order to determine his
fitness and qualifications for the
conduct of such business.
The department of finance shall obtain a criminal record check of the
applicant.
